November 2019 Wedding of the Month: Elli and Josh Kukorlu

Why did you choose RiverCrest?

Elli: I wanted to have the reception at RiverCrest since I was a child! I grew up going to holiday parties and banquets at RiverCrest and it was such a beautiful venue and they always made parties feel effortless.

Josh: When we were looking at all types of venues besides RiverCrest, we found that having a reception at somewhere like RiverCrest where everything is ‘all inclusive’ was actually cheaper than most venue rental sites. I knew Elli wanted RiverCrest and this sold me on it.

What is your favorite wedding moment(s)?

Elli and Josh: The last hour of our reception was our favorite. We had the BEST DJ- Steve Vasquez of Soundfactor and he kept everyone on the dancefloor all night. It was a BLAST. During our last song, all our guests got in a circle around us and Josh and I ran around the circle hugging and high fiving everyone. In planning the wedding, making our guests would have the fun was our priority, and in that moment we felt like we accomplished that goal.

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Elli: We went to Hawaii for 2 weeks and I couldn’t be happier that we went right after the wedding. If you can – do it! Celebrate that you have no more planning to do while drinking a pina colada.

Any advice to give future RiverCrest couples?

Josh: If you have some flexibility in scheduling your wedding day, leave time to go to RiverCrest’s cocktail hour. We left a small gap between our ceremony (off site) and the reception to take our group photos so we could attend. RiverCrest is known for how awesome their cocktail hour is, so go eat the delicious food and have one of your signature drinks. It’s also more time to spend with your guests! Also, don’t hesitate to make special requests to make your wedding the way you want it- RiverCrest will accommodate.
