The holidays are a beautiful time of year to get married. If you like the winter wonderland theme or the traditional holiday decorations you can host a breathtaking holiday wedding.
The majority of your wedding venue options are going to already be decorated for you; the important thing to ask is for pictures of what the room looks like decorated. You don’t want any decoration surprises the day of your wedding!
Build your centerpieces around the current theme being carried out as well as your colors.
Keep in mind that if you are planning to invite around 150 people, the typical wash (no response) is 10%. On the holidays it is going to be up to 20%-25%. People are busy and they are invited to many work and family parties that are a tradition for most.
You need to be understanding but also concerned if the reception hall is keeping you to a per person minimum and you need to think about the attendance.
It’s a big help to guests if you send out a Save the Date card in advance. This will let all of your guests know the date well in advance and then they can plan on attending. Out of town guests will also have plenty of time to book airline tickets. The typical time line for a Save the Date is six to nine months in advance depending on if the guests are mainly local or from out of town.
If you like the holidays and would like a discount, be sure to look into January. You will find that most reception venues and wedding facilities will give discounts and are willing to work with you for your business.
Vendors such as photographers, videographers, florists, and bakers are happy to have your business as well in January.
Happy New Year, Buon Anno, Feliz Año Nuevo and Shana Tova!
