As you begin your search for the perfect wedding venue, one (extremely) important thing to consider is your ceremony location. If you are looking for both a convenient and elegant ceremony location, be sure to ask potential venues if they offer on-site ceremony options. The convenience of an on-site ceremony can’t be beat!
If your chosen venue has a bridal suite, try to make it the location of all your day-of wedding activities. Invest in a traveling hairdresser and make-up artist and gather all your girls at the venue for primping. There is no running between the hotel, the salon, the ceremony location, and the venue. Just show up and stay in one spot, right until the end of the wedding!
If you have a lot of friends and family coming from out of town, having the ceremony and reception at the same location can make things much simpler for them. There is often a time gap to fill when the ceremony and reception take place at different venues. Local guests can often easily go home in between but guests from out of town do not always want to find their way back to their hotel only to leave again a little while later. It can be frustrating for your out-of-towners to find their way to several different locations for one event, even in the age of GPS! This is not an issue when the ceremony takes place at the reception venue; guests can go right to Cocktail Hour and enjoy a drink.
